National Park Day OUTDOOR FILM EVENT
 Boarding House Park, Lowell

It’s the moment the LFC has been waiting for: Lowell’s historic Boarding House Park, home to the Lowell Summer Music Series and main stage at the Lowell Folk Festival, will soon be decked out in glorious film garb. It is the dawn of a new film era in Lowell!

In recognition of National Park Day (Tuesday, August 25) and the release of Ken Burns’ newest documentary The National Parks: America’s Best Idea, Lowell National Historical Park will be screening an evening film program dedicated to the National Park Service — Lowell National Historical Park in particular.

The evening program will include:

  • Film short segments from Ken Burns’ Untold Stories Project;
  • Film trailers from Lowell’s Young Producers Project, featuring clips from film shorts produced and directed by local youth on their experiences growing up in an urban National Park;
  • A screening of Past, Present, and Future, a locally produced film celebrating Lowell National Park’s 30th anniversary.

The event is FREE and open to the public — we encourage everyone to attend and help us spread the word! Bring your beach blankets, lawn chairs, and lucky charms for perfect summer weather — we’ll be sure to pass along updates as they come in.

Current partners for this event include Lowell National Historical Park, Lowell Telecommunications Corporation, and the Lowell Film Collaborative (yes — that’s us!).
