“If I Want to Whistle, I Whistle” screens this Thursday at Pollard Library’s Independent Film Night

Thursday, July 14 @ 6:30PM
Pollard Memorial Library
401 Merrimack Street, Lowell
Free admission!

If you’re in the Lowell area, an indie/foreign film buff, and it’s the second Thursday of the month, it’s pretty much your lucky day. Every second Thursday of the month at 6:30PM, arthouse film fans are treated to a FREE independent film at Pollard Library, courtesy of the Friends of the Pollard Library and the library’s partnership with Film Movement. Directed by Florin Serban, If I Want to Whistle, I Whistle hails from Romania and is Serban’s first feature film. It was Romania’s official submission to the 2011 Academy Awards for Best Foreign Language Film and has been the recipient of much acclaim in the film festival circuit, particularly in Europe.

Be sure to stay in touch with the Pollard Library about this event and all their other offerings, including their Thursday Indie Film Nights — visit the Pollard blog at PollardMLibrary.blogspot.com and kindly friend them on Facebook. We’ve also included a handy ‘button’ on our own homepage (see right) as a little reminder of their monthly film offerings. Be sure to express your thanks to the good folks at the Pollard, in particular their Community Planning Librarian, Sean Thibodeau, an LFC supporter, native Lowellian, and fellow film devotee (thanks for helping to bring great film to Lowell, Sean!)
