“The Visitor” Screening in Groton

Groton isn’t exactly a bike ride from Lowell, but we at the Lowell Film Collaborative love that the quiet little town is serious enough about film to have its own film society…and a bona fide 501(c)(3) non-profit, no less!

The Groton Film Society tries to host at least one screening per month, and this Saturday, February 21, they’ll screen The Visitor, a critically acclaimed film starring Richard Jenkins, who has now received a lead actor Oscar nomination for his role in the film. The fun starts at 6:30 p.m. in the Williams Arts Center Recital Hall at Lawrence Academy. To make it a truly memorable evening, start out with dinner at Gibbet Hill Grill across the street from the school. Yummy!

Admission to the film is free for GFS members. Non-members can purchase a one-day membership at the door for $15, which includes admission to the reception, screening, discussion, and speaker presentation (if any). For full details, visit the Groton Film Society web site at www.grotonfilmsociety.org.
