Lowell Filmmaker Jim Higgins Captures Shadows and Souls

We’re incredibly proud of Lowell filmmaker Jim Higgins. His latest, award-winning short, Nether World: A Modern Fairy Tale, celebrated its premier in March 2009 at Lowell’s United Teen Equality Center (UTEC) to a standing room only crowd. Incorporating a stage/musical reenactment of key scenes of the film, the event captured the exotic textures of Higgins’ cloaked figures and moonlit shadows. We invite you to visit www.flyingorb.com and peruse its pages for more information on Higgins’ creations, which include his Shadow Worlds trilogy of shorts: Ephemera, The Soul Collector, and The Other Lover. The “slow-moving” haunting visuals you see in all

Flying Orb films were achieved with a 35mm still camera and stop motion, which, according to Higgins, “offers [the audience] a moment to reflect.”

We encourage you to become a Facebook fan of Flying Orb Productions — you’ll be glad you did!
